1.1.1 Connectivity. Oracle Net, a component of Oracle Net Services, enables a network session from a client application to an Oracle Database server.Once a network session is established, Oracle Net acts as the data courier for both the client application and the database server. Oracle client and networking components were not foundThese componetnts are supplied by the Oracle Coorparation andare part of the Oracle version 7.3.3 and later. This program will not run until the installation of these.
Here is the trick,
I wanted to add an ODBC for Oracle in the profiler for an application that is linked(Inter-Isolation communication) with Oracle Client profile, but i had this error ' Oracle client and networking components were not found. These components are supplied by Oracle Corporation and are part of the
Oracle Version 7.3.3 or later client software installation'.
Anyway, i added a windows 'cmd.exe' to the profile using the streaming profiler. After that i launched the command. By now, i have a command line prompt, which i like!, and i typed 'odbcad32.exe' which is the ODBC configuration window. So, the window pop-up and i added my ODBC without any problem. But i still in the isolated environment not in the profiler. What i did is from the same command window i launched the 'regedit' command, i looked for ODBC and found it in the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware'. Then i copied all the created variables in the registry (i didn't want to make an export). After this, i went to the streaming profiler and updated the profile in the registry by using these lines:
Lets assume that 'cosmos' is the name of the data sources and the name of the server.(take look to the picture in the attachment). All you have to do is to create the keys and the variables and their values.

Leniel MaccaferriI see this error frequently when our desktop support team installs the wrong Oracle client. If your application (Excel, in this case) is 32-bit, then you also need to be using 32-bit ODBC and 32-bit Oracle client. It doesn't matter that your OS or hardware is 64-bit. What matters is the application. And it seems that most MS Office installations are 32-bit, even when installed on 64-bit Windows.
In my case, the Console project in Visual Studio had Prefer 32 bit
check-marked in its Properties.
Press Alt + Enter and open the Build section.
I unchecked it and then the app worked perfectly.
By the way: I had installed Oracle client 64 bit.
